The Dragon: hoarder of wisdom and riches, bane of many a hero, and the greatest of mythological beasts. That secret wisdom can be yours with this unique set of runes, available only through The Magical Druid!

Unlike other dragon runes on the market, this is a complete rune set made up of twenty-four Elder Futhark runes (rather than made-up "runes dragons would carve") and each of these runes has a dragon engraved onto its back (no "blank" or "wyrd" runes are included, and we will not fill requests for blank runes). The runes are hand-burned into wooden tiles, making each one clear and easy to read.

The wood is domestic poplar, and it has a beautiful light grain to it. The runes are lighter than oak versions. Each rune is approx. 1" x 2.5" x .25" in dimension, and each is hand-sanded to give a generally uniform look and feel (along with preventing splinters). The grain of the wood runs left to right (rather than top to bottom), as it should for a set of runes.

Because they are hand-sanded, each set is unique and perfect uniformity isn't really possible. The runes are very durable and we've never had a hardwood tile break (not that I've actively worked at it, mind you, but they've been in some pretty rough situations over the years), and the burning process doesn't leave anything to smudge.

The runes are finished as the name of the rune is chanted, calling to it and seeking to bring it out as the rune is carved. We don't colour the runes ourselves, leaving that option up to the eventual owner, should he or she wish to put their own energy into the runes they have purchased.
